If you’ve ever opened the Xiaomi Home app and had to scroll past a dozen devices to find the one you actually wanted, HyperOS 4 has a fix coming. Xiaomi has redesigned the device center inside HyperOS 4, aiming to make it easier to manage everything from cars to smart home gadgets to phones and tablets, all in one place.
According to a report by XimiTime, citing ITHome, the new center switches to a card-based layout, meant to help users locate a specific device quickly regardless of how large their connected ecosystem has grown.

Two changes stand out in particular. The first is multi-home switching, which lets people move between different households — say, a primary residence and a vacation home — without digging through settings to find the right device group. The second is the ability to pin frequently used devices to the top of the list, so the smart plug you check every morning or the vacuum you start before leaving for work doesn’t get buried under gadgets you rarely touch.
It’s a small change on paper, but it points to something bigger about where Xiaomi’s ecosystem has ended up. A device center redesign only really matters once a company’s product lineup has grown large enough that a simple, unsorted list stops being usable. Xiaomi now sells phones, tablets, robot vacuums, air purifiers, smart bands, cars, and dozens of other connected devices under one roof — pinning and multi-home support are the kind of features that become necessary, not optional, once a household realistically has ten-plus connected products running at once.
This update lands as part of the broader HyperOS 4 Beta program, which kicked off on August 14 and has since moved into a second recruitment batch for eligible phones and tablets, open to sign-ups through the Xiaomi Community. Anyone wanting to try the redesigned device center firsthand would need to be accepted into that beta pool first, since it hasn’t reached a stable public release yet.
For those tracking their own device’s HyperOS 4 status, the MemeOS Enhancer app can check eligibility and surface the latest system app updates, while firmware packages for HyperOS 4 tend to show up on MemeOSUpdates.com as they roll out.
Interface tweaks like this rarely make headlines the way a new chip or camera system does, but they’re often the difference between an ecosystem that feels coherent and one that feels like a pile of unrelated apps. Whether the redesign actually delivers on that in daily use will become clearer once HyperOS 4 moves past beta testing and reaches a wider audience.
