Xiaomi Mijia Air Purifier 6, 4 Compact Launched in India: Price, Specs, Sale Date

Xiaomi is doubling down on indoor air quality in India. The company has pulled its Mijia sub-brand into the country for the first time, launching two new air purifiers alongside a familiar model that’s making a comeback with fresh pricing.

According to a report by Business Today, the lineup includes the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6, the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact, and the returning Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite. Together, they’re built to cover everything from full living rooms to a single desk in a home office.

What’s New: The Mijia Debut

The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 is the flagship of the trio, aimed at larger rooms — up to 940 sq. ft. It delivers a 443 m³/h Particle CADR alongside a 218 m³/h Formaldehyde CADR, and under Xiaomi’s testing conditions, it can refresh the air in a 108 sq. ft. room in roughly 3.5 minutes. That kind of speed matters most in a large, busy living room where dust and cooking fumes build up quickly.

Under the hood, it runs what Xiaomi calls a five-stage PentaClean system, combining standard filtration, activated carbon, UV-C light, and Negative Ion technology. On the outside, a large colour display shows real-time PM2.5, PM1, temperature, humidity and overall air quality readings, with schedules, filter tracking and settings managed through the Xiaomi Home app. It also plays nice with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for hands-free control, and drops to around 32dB(A) in Sleep Mode — quiet enough to run overnight without becoming a nuisance.

The smaller Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact is built for tighter, more personal spaces — think bedrooms, study corners or a kid’s room — covering areas of 400+ sq. ft. and carrying a TÜV Rheinland Allergy Care Certification. Its 3-in-1 filtration setup traps 99.97% of airborne particles down to 0.3 microns, putting it in HEPA territory despite the compact size. A four-colour indicator gives at-a-glance air quality updates, and the unit switches between Manual, Auto and Sleep modes. At 2.2kg, it’s light enough to move between a desk, side table or the floor, sips just 0.65kWh over 24 hours of continuous max-power use, and drops to 20dB in Sleep Mode — quieter than a whisper.

The Comeback: 4 Lite Returns

Rounding out the launch is the Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite, back on shelves after previously being available in India. It’s rated for rooms of 269-463 sq. ft., pushes a Particle CADR of up to 360m³/h, and carries the same TUV Rheinland Allergy Care Certification as its Compact sibling. It runs a three-layer filtration setup, drops to 33.4dB(A) in Night Mode, tracks air quality in real time, and connects through Xiaomi Home.

Pricing and Availability

Xiaomi has priced the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 at ₹19,999, the 4 Lite at ₹12,999, and the 4 Compact at ₹7,999. All three go on sale September 2, 2026, through mi.com, Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit, Xiaomi Retail and Xiaomi Exclusive stores.

Why It Matters

Timing is worth noting here. Air purifier sales in India typically pick up as autumn approaches, when air quality in several northern cities tends to worsen ahead of winter. Launching this range in early September puts Xiaomi’s new devices in front of buyers right as that seasonal shopping window opens.

It’s also a notable brand move. Mijia has functioned as Xiaomi’s dedicated smart-home sub-brand in China for years, covering everything from purifiers to kettles to security cameras. Bringing it to India — rather than just badging these as standard Xiaomi products — suggests the company sees enough appetite here to justify building out a parallel product line, not just importing one-off gadgets.

Pricing-wise, the spread is deliberate. The ₹7,999 Compact gives budget-conscious buyers an entry point for a single room, the ₹12,999 Lite sits in the middle for mid-sized spaces, and the ₹19,999 flagship targets households wanting whole-room coverage with the fastest CADR numbers of the three. That’s a fairly clear “good, better, best” structure aimed at different budgets rather than one device trying to do everything.

Whether Mijia sticks around in India beyond this launch, or whether Xiaomi folds more of its Chinese smart-home lineup into the brand over time, remains to be seen. For now, buyers looking to upgrade their home air setup ahead of the season have three new options to weigh from September 2.
